This luxury home in the Dallas Design District has open space for living and a commercial option

This hidden home in Dallas’ Design District offers luxury finishes and design elements, but you’d never guess it from the curbside view. The 5,592-square-foot home is its own compound complete with gated access, garages that fit four cars, an outdoor patio and rooftop views. To top that off, it also backs up to the levee along the Trinity River.

The home has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Listing agent Henda Salmeron of Dave Perry-Miller Real Estate said the home was initially two separate units but the sellers reconfigured it to create one space. Now, the interior has multiple living spaces laid out in an open-concept design.

Salmeron said that, because the property is zoned as a commercial property, it could be used for multiple purposes like a club, restaurant or business. She said that many creatives in the area design spaces like this to have a studio on one side of the building and their residence on another.

“Because of the commercial zone, it does lean itself very well to that live-work combo,” Salmeron said.

There are two entrances into the home, one that leads into the media room and another that leads into the main living space. The home’s living spaces, which include a breakfast area and an excercise room, have an open concept design. If you stand in the media room on one end, you can see all the way through the dining room to the kitchen and additional living spaces.

The kitchen has a large L-shaped island with a custom bar made of walnut wood. The cabinets are made of white oak, and the countertops are made of quartz. You’ll find a Wolf stove with six burners and two ovens, plus a Sub-Zero refrigerator and two additional 400-bottle wine refrigerators.

The home’s two living areas sit side by side, and one of the areas is elevated by a platform.

The primary suite is just past these living rooms through a set of tall doors with glass windows. The suite has a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a freestanding bathtub and a marble-tiled shower.

The home’s dining room has a custom 10-and-a-half-foot dining table that Salmeron said can stay with the home. The adjacent wet bar has two more 400-bottle wine refrigerators, an ice maker and a drink cooler. The media room has a fireplace and built-in speakers, plus enough space for a pool table (which will be included with the property).

The home’s additional two bedrooms are on the first level. There is another room upstairs that could be used as a study.

The home is on the market for $4,500,000.
